I started acupuncture yesterday. I've actually been wanting to try it for a while. On top of the ever-present knee pain, my body just feels off lately in every way possible. I feel gross and out of whack.
Like any of its 'natural/holistic medicine' relatives acupuncture is always mad expensive and definitely not in the budget. Fortunately for me and other curious pain-sufferers, Rochester Community Acupuncture provides this service for a really affordable price. I really like their approach --they use a community based model and a 'slide scale' fee so you pretty much pay what you can afford between 15 and 35 bucks (which is SO cheap comparatively). It's a very cool social-business model where care for the patient is priority. You don't see that much.

It will probably take a while, but I think I am willing to spend the money at least to see what happens--or at the very least support their business.

Hopefully more posts to come.
