Tattoos
I remember in 10th or 11th grade my art teacher gave us our first assignment of the year: to make a logo for ourselves. I thought it was pretty lame at the time, but if you think about it, it is quite a difficult task. Create one single image that is meant to represent you and your work? Proposterous.
Now, I haven't the smallest idea as to what I made for my logo (which is probably saying something), but I am having something of a similar difficulty now.
I want a tattoo. I've wanted one for a few years now. I don't quite no why...and no it isn't to fit in with the "fad" of edgy/trendy girls or whatever you want to call it. First of all, in order to do that I would have to miraculously lose 20 pounds and start wearing white V-neck shirts and skinny jeans. No thanks. (though I do like V-necks quite a lot). Anyway, I feel like getting a tattoo is similar to creating/picking out a logo for yourself, at least to some extent. And the reason why I haven't gotten one is that I don't have anything of particular significance to brand myself with for the rest of my life; nothing of permanence.
On that same note, though, at this point in my life I feel like I have had plenty of lets say, "experiences", issues, whatever you want to call them that I think are important for me to "document"--things/people I want to remember. I have the issues, I just dont have the image.
Wow, story of my creative life! I love it.
