Don't be Cheap.
Frugality is okay in my book--in fact I'm quite frugal, and I've noticed it is very annoying to those around me sometimes. But being flat out cheap just gets you into trouble. Case and point: my father.
Rather than spending 10-15 bucks to have someone plug his tire, he decided to be gung-ho DIY man and do it himself, despite his re-occuring back issues. Luckily for him, his back didn't go out on him....just his knee.
After 2 days of pain and isolation in his apartment, he has re-assured me that it will be fine once we get matching knee braces. Of course I'm thrilled.
