Sometimes I can't even begin to explain how much you impress & inspire me.

I feel like the low turnout of undergrads for the Day of Service is related to a lack of understanding of the events--their cause or their cultural meaning. This is really a symptom of our [middle-class college kids'] general state of obliviousness regarding world events, world religions and cultures, recent history and conflict, and politics.

THIS is why I wanted to do Take 5.

It's not about school- I kind of hate school. I want to be knowledgable. I want to be someone who not only knows about fundamental theories/principles/ideas/ social issues, but someone who does something with them.

Someone that can contribute..something!

Somewhat-relatedly,
I am hoping this lack of conversation about "work-related" things/surges of activist-flavored intensity is more of a processing-through-writing thing and less of an I dont want to/feel like I can talk to you about it thing. Because I really want to.

Hooray for publicly displayed requests to learn more about a person and their thoughts/feelings!
