empty shelves
Chapter one.
One, it's such a weighty word.
"Chapter one needs to be good. It needs to set the tone for the rest of the story, it needs to communicate who the characters are and what might happen to them. All of that and still be entertaining, well written and unusual yet not gimmicky."
that might be asking a lot--but it's what I need right now. none of the books in my house have captured my interest today.
Ive got my mom's crime novels-- easy reads, but nothing special.
My brother's books on Judaism--eehh, no thanks. Not in the mood for that one.
and my books. Have some favorites, but I dont want to re-live any of them right now. something new would be more interesting.
I hate to say it, but one of the main things I miss since my dad has moved out is the treasure trove of books. so many! At least two full shelves, if I remember correctly. and the man has taste.
Hm. I haven't seen him since i've been home. I don't know if it's because he doesn't want to see me or he just hasn't 'gotten around to it.'
I find it hard to believe that the latter is true.
