who's history?
I used to be so good at history papers! Granted, I'm drawing on memories from fifth grade U.S. History class, when my history teacher (who was also my very gay, tennis-playing- gym- teacher) thought I was brilliant and everything I said was so promising and awesome! Good memories...
Give me "the Facts".
I think I liked history better when it was (erroneously) taught from one perspective. It's easy to take in when its only from one point of view.
That's exactly why I always avoided war papers, and generally sucked at understanding strategies, conflicts, and outcomes--they're messy and incongruent and have to be considered from multiple perspectives. All things happen at once.
All history is like that. It's not based on fact, it's relative and depends on who's telling the story and what get's told. When you think about it like that, it's actually kind of cool. But it's also incredibly terrifying.
