Don't lose hope! (also, dont sit in brooks b/c it leads to hulk-like rage)
Dear Sarahgerin,
When you lose your ambition and feel like you can't do anything, which is usually a lot (but thats okay!), think back to moments like these.
Moments when you happily wander through the stacks, full of excitement about starting to rifle through them and do research.
The moments you're driven to do something, moments you want to be better than other people.
Take these, albeit moments of pure hatred and loathing (just in this one, specific case), and turn them into something positive for yourself and ideally everyone else involved.
[tangent alert!!!]
How nice of you to invest your sad, crazy petty little life in a business, operating under false pretenses and shakey, questionable guidelines and "morals" (hah); but one day maybe I'll manage a non-profit or multi-million dollar fund or something-or-other that actually matters. And I'll do it with a little dignity and a lot of professionalism. Maybe I'll interact with/recruit/advise upcoming college students or counsel kids or teach or who knows what! Who cares? But it's going to mean more and be more fair to others than you could probably even try to understand. SUCK ON THAT.
How I get there, that's the question. But I need to see it as an option.
