Something to look forward to (FOOD!)

I think I prefer simple nights most times. Good company is really the key ingredient to a good time, in my book. I need a break from all this pubbing and clubbing.

salvation, thy name is sarah!

We found this really amazing place near Old Street, very artsy (in a charming, quaint sort of way, not pretentious). I love that we dont need anything other than each other's company to have a great time. So on Saturday we're gonna hit that place up again: Im going to cook beforehand and then we're gonna go check out whatever DJ is playing. perfection!

And I am REALLY excited to 'legitimately' cook. I love planning dinner, especially for other people, as nerdy as that is. It's given me something to look forward to for this week (while the rest of my flat has their impromptu trip to Milan that was shared after-the-fact. oh well. no roomies!)

So far I am toying with thought of these champ ingredients:
bananas and blueberries. Time to shine, boys!

Naturally, I have the dessert all figured out before anything else.

Baked bananas.

Sounds strange, I know. But how could I not have thought of this before? Peels are perfect for keeping in that deliciousness and transforming it. Im going to spruce it up somehow. Most likely stuff it with magic. And by magic I mean chocolate, chopped nuts, topped with ice cream.

I'm pretty excited to try that. Maybe I'll experiment before I use Sarah as a guinea pig.. (but what could go wrong with that concoction, right?)

The blueberries, on the other hand, will play their part in the main course. Most likely a chutney of some sort or a salsa. I'll have to check out some recipes and see. But they are on sale and have been very tasty so far. Will capitalize on that goodness while I still can.

Hm, then I'm gonna go with some version of rice as my side. Sounds promising. I'm excited.

Now I guess I have to go do actual work now, lame.
